Public Workshop #2 - What Could Marin Sea Level Rise Mean to You?

Come Join the Conversation:
Public Workshops October 28, 29, 30 at 6 - 8:30 PM

What we Value, and What is at Risk? The sea along Marin’s coast has risen 8 inches since record-keeping began. The best science available says it will rise substantially more in coming years. The C-SMART[External] project (“Collaboration: Sea-level Marin Adaptation Response Team”) is working to bring communities together to better understand the challenge and examine possible responses.

Three public workshops, each focused on different areas of West Marin’s coast, will introduce the potential exposure of people, natural resources, and the built environment to the possible effects of sea level rise over the decades to come.

Tuesday, October 28, (central area- Point Reyes Station- Inverness-East Shore area.)
Wednesday, October 29, (Muir Beach- Stinson-Bolinas area).
Thursday, October 30, (North county, Dillon Beach, Tomales)

Participants in the workshops will collaborate on articulating the values, resources and assets that could be vulnerable to rising seas. Attendees are invited to bring photos that represent the things that make Marin’s coast a special place for them. Maps of potential future scenarios will be displayed.

Missed the July 10, 2014 Kickoff Meeting describing the science behind the work and the overall project scope? – No Worries! Here is a video[External] of the event you can view.
