Marin County Planning Commission field trip to Bowman Canyon

On Monday, June 9, the County Planning Commission is doing a tour of the Cooley/Porter proposed site for a solar farm.  The public can attend.  The directions to the site are on the notice.  The Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the proposal on June 23. Below is the public notice:

Planning Commission that will be held at a different location.  The site has difficult terrain and is not easily accessible.  If you need assistance, please contact our office by noon on

Friday, June 6, 2014 so that we can make accommodations.

10:30 A.M. 1. COOLEY/PORTER SITE VISIT – 2600 Novato Boulevard, Novato. Site tour will depart promptly at the private cattle gate at the end of Bowman Canyon.

Site visit conducted by the Community Development Agency staff for the Cooley/Porter Use Permit and Design Review. This special meeting is limited in scope and is intended to provide the Commission with an understanding of the physical aspects of the project and its relationship to the site and surrounding neighborhood. The Planning Commission will not be discussing the merits of the project and no decision will be made on the application at this special meeting. The subject property is located at 2600 Novato Boulevard, Novato, and is further identified as Assessor's Parcel 125-150-26.

 

Directions to the meeting site located at the end of Bowman Canyon:

  • Head west on Novato Boulevard, approximately 0.8 miles from the corner of San Marin Drive at San Marin High School.
  • Turn right onto the unnamed private road identified with a 3-foot orange stake next to a utility pole and group of mail boxes for 2754 and 2756 Novato Blvd.
  • Drive 1.2 miles to the cattle gate on the right, also marked with an orange stake and just before the entrance to the McIsaac Dairy.
