Go Green with Graywater

RESIDENTIAL GRAYWATER REUSE: Laundry to Landscape, Simple and Complex Systems

Recent changes in California law makes repurposing graywater more accessible for homeowners who want to reuse graywater to conserve fresh water use.   The workshop is part of Marin County’s work to teach the community about gray water reuse and encourage residents to install “safe” gray water systems in accordance with health and building practices.

The second of three “GO GREEN WITH GRAYWATER” workshops will go beyond Laundry-To-Landscape systems and address other residential graywater reuse options.  Participants will learn about gray water reuse – what it is, why repurposing graywater matters, what residential graywater systems are currently approved by Marin County and the State of California, and what’s involved in installing these systems.

Primarily focused on irrigation systems for homeowners, the “GO GREEN WITH GRAYWATER”  workshops are brought to you by the Marin County Environmental Health Services Department.  The workshops are free and open to the public, and are appropriate for homeowners, DIYers, contractors in the landscape and plumbing trades, and materials suppliers.

As part of the ”GO GREEN WITH GRAYWATER” program, a website and brochure are being made available to the public. Both can be found at www.marincounty.org/ehs ; click on the Graywater Systems icon.  The print brochure will also be available at various locations throughout the County. For further information: 415.473.6907
