Water in the North Bay:
A seasoned observer’s comments on supply, planning, & environment
Thursday, October 13, 2016, 4:30 PM
Central Marin Police Headquarters Community Room
250 Doherty Drive, Larkspur
Chris DeGabriele, General Manager of North Marin Water District and Chairman of the technical advisory committee to the Sonoma County Water Agency, will update us on a host of North Bay water issues. These could include the situation with regard to the Eel and Russian rivers, ongoing drought contingency planning, and the North Bay Water Reuse Authority, a three-county effort to address water supply shortages.
Chris will retire in 2017 after 22 years as head of Marin’s second largest water agency, during which he has served on numerous local, regional, and state water policy groups. The Sonoma County Water Agency, on which he serves as chair, is the water wholesaler to North Marin and Marin Municipal Water District, providing Novato with up to 75% of its water and Southern Marin with about 25% of its water.
Chris is an acknowledged leader in North Bay water planning, and we look forward to some interesting observations as he looks back on 22 years in the center of the North Bay’s complex water hierarchy.
