Marin County Water Service Study: Update on Pending Conclusions/Recommendations with Marin LAFCO Executive Officer Keene Simonds

Marin County’s Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) has nearly completed an almost two-year review of the county’s public water service providers, a task undertaken at the direction of the State Legislature.

The study’s purpose is to assess the relationship between supply, demand, and capacity in meeting the County’s needs. Recommendations and related information may affect subsequent sphere of influence updates, future boundary changes, and/or reorganization actions.
The study’s final report is expected by late summer. At this meeting Marin LAFCO chief Keene Simonds will go over some pending conclusions/recommendations on the supply/demand relationship of our water providers.

The agencies reviewed include: Marin Municipal Water District, North Marin Water District, Stinson Beach County Water District, Bolinas Community Public Utility District, Inverness Public Utility District , Muir Beach Community Services District, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District (recycled water), and Novato Sanitary District (recycled water).
