The featured speaker at the July 22 quarterly meeting of the Marin Conservation League's Agricultural Land Use Committee will be UC Emeritus Professor of Wildlife Biology and Research Conservationist, Dale R. McCullough, speaking on:Tule Elk: From Endangered Species to Recovery, with Related Human Conflicts.
The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the Board Room at the Marin County Farm Bureau building at 520 Mesa Road, Point Reyes Station. In addition to the history of tule elk in California, Professor McCullough will talk about tule elk habitat and movement patterns, water and feed requirements (browsers or grazers), and reproduction patterns, and identify of some of the factors that may or may not limit the health of and numbers of tule elk in the Point Reyes National Seashore, e.g., the impact of mineral deficiencies, Johne’s Disease and predators.
MCL committee meetings are open to the public.
