West Marin Sea Level Rise Adaptation Planning

Join the Point Reyes Village Association for a presentation by Marin County planners on the sea level rise adaptation planning for West Marin. Material covered will be similar to the Stinson Beach workshop, including an overview of important adaptation strategies and policies to be potentially included in an Adaptation Report and Local Coastal Program Amendment in Spring 2016. Everyone is welcome!

Share your input via the Adaptation Poll

Learn about adaptation strategies such as horizontal levees, beach nourishment, elevation of structures, and land use policies. Thank you to the over 175 community members who participated in a workshop in Stinson Beach on November 14. We are continuing to request everyone's input! This poll is intended for discussion purposes only, and the responses are just one component in a larger process of adaptation planning. Take the West Marin Sea Level Rise Adaptation Poll by January 17, 2016.

Review the Draft Vulnerability Assessment

You are invited to review the Draft Marin Ocean Coast Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment released in October 2015. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this document. Over the past year, Marin County Community Development Agency (CDA) gathered information from technical advisors, utility managers, and West Marin residents. The resulting Vulnerability Assessment summarizes the expected timing and extent of impacts, laying a foundation of knowledge to guide adaptation planning.
