Vegetation, Wildlife, and Water: MMWD's Environmental Stewardship
New district staff safeguard watershed’s healthy habitat – crucial work to bring you clean, safe drinking water
MCL Water Series Program
Thursday, September 20, 4:30 to 6 PM
Central Marin Police Community Room, 250 Doherty Drive, Larkspur
MMWD Natural Resources Program Manager Shaun Horne and Civil and Environmental Engineer Aaron Fulton are new members of the district’s watershed team. Among their responsibilities, Shaun is working on the Biodiversity, Fire, and Fuels Integrated Plan, which will guide management of watershed vegetation for the future; and Aaron is fully involved with MMWD’s flood plain habitat restoration project in Lagunitas Creek
They will discuss MMWD’s watershed stewardship along with a presentation on the Napa River restoration, an impressive large project on which they worked together for several years.
About 75 percent of MMWD’s water comes from rainwater captured from the watershed on Mount Tam and in west Marin. Providing high quality water relies on a range of expertise, including that of scientists like Shaun and Aaron who work to ensure the health of the watershed.
As always, there will be a Q and A.
No charge for this program which is open to the public. Please use Piper Park parking behind the station.
