Senior Walk - Santa Margarita Island and Turtleback

Senior Walks: Exploring Marin's Conservation History on Foot
China Camp State Park and Santa Margarita Island Open Space Preserve

Event Flyer

WalkersMarin Conservation League welcomes you to a series of six free Walks into the Conservation History of Marin County. In this program, which begins in September and will extend into spring 2016, we will visit some of the special lands in Marin that have been acquired over many years for people to enjoy and to protect the plants and wildlife that inhabit them.  Each has trails to walk and stories to tell.  Our focus is on the County’s Open Space District – 34 Open Space Preserves totaling 16,000 acres, but we will visit other public lands.

We will transport you by van, take leisurely walks on easy trails, tell stories about how the lands were saved, introduce you to the plants and wildlife that inhabit them, and enjoy a light snack.   The excursions will be limited typically to 20 individuals.

Please note this program is specifically tailored for those who may not be able to attend our regular and more strenuous Walk into (Conservation) History program due to transportation or mobility issues. Space is very limited.
