Northridge

The Blithedale Ridge Open Space above Mill Valley, known as North Ridge, was preserved in 1976 after almost two decades of community effort that involved thousands of volunteer hours and donations and significant financial grants.  It is a prime example of communities joining together to save the land.  MCL helped residents of Corte Madera, Larkspur, Mill Valley and Kentfield to secure more than 450 acres of this land for public ownership.

North Ridge is part of the connecting ridge from Mt. Tamalpais to Richardson Bay.  It provides an entrance to Mt. Tamalpais State Park and connects via further trails to Muir Woods, GGNRA and coastal beaches.

MCL continues to work on preserving important natural features of Marin. Projects have included the San Rafael Shoreline, Corte Madera marshes, Bahia, Rush Creek in Novato, Bel Marin Keys and other creeks, wetlands and ridges.
