AGRICULTURAL LAND USE

The Agricultural Land Use Committee meets quarterly on the fourth Friday of the first month of the quarter to monitor, review and comment to public agencies and decision-makers on land use planning issues pertaining to agriculture in Marin County. CLIMATE ACTION WORKING GROUP

The Climate Action Working Group develops recommendations and presents MCL’s position at public hearings. It functions as a forum for all community groups concerned with climate change. The CAWG meets every month on the third Friday in San Rafael. Fire and the Environment Working Group

LAND USE and TRANSPORTATION

The Land Use and Transportation Committee monitors, reviews and comments to public agencies and decision-makers on land use planning issues of countywide significance. Committee members attend a wide range of workshops, public hearings and study sessions on various planning and development projects. Major current projects include the Easton Point development in Tiburon, SMART Station Area planning, Gnoss Field runway expansion plans, and supporting ongoing efforts to preserve and protect Marin baylands. The committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 AM at the MCL office. Chair: Susan Stompe.

NORTH MARIN UNIT

The North Marin Unit tracks issues and projects in the Novato area, including a number of baylands projects and plans and studies prepared by City and County agencies, and makes recommendations to the appropriate Issues Committee. Current topics include housing and transportation proposals around the city including the Gnoss Field runway expansion, the Novato General Plan, and Stafford Lake Park. The unit meets at various locations and days in Novato. Chair: Susan Stompe.

PARKS AND OPEN SPACE

The Parks and Open Space Committee monitors, reviews and comments to public agencies and decision-makers on issues of relating to federal, state, county and local parklands in Marin County. Committee members attend a wide range of workshops, public hearings and study sessions on various projects. Current issues include the Marin County Road and Trail Management Plan, parking and traffic at Muir Woods National Monument, and planning at Point Reyes National Seashore. The committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 3:00 PM at the MCL office. Chair: Nona Dennis.
